Spring in ‘t veld

€4.25*

Spring in ‘t Veld is a unisex sock pattern featuring stranded colourwork and mock cables. It is knit cuff down with a eye of partridge heel flap and gusset decreases at the bottom of the foot. Spring in ‘t veld is a Dutch phrase for a person who is very energetic and a literal translation would be “jump around in the field”.

It is a top-down sock, featuring stranded knitting, mock cables, a eye-of-partidge heelflap heel, and gusset decreases at the bottom of the foot.

There are 3 sizes available: Small (60 stitches), Medium (72 stitches) and Large (84 stitches).

The pattern is worked at a gauge of 8 stitches and 11 rows = 2.5 cm in stockinette and 8 stitches and 10 rows = 2.5 cm in stranded stockinette.

You’ll need approximately 80 to 120 grams of fingering weight sock yarn in the following amounts when working both socks in the same colour scheme:

  • Approximately 60-80 grams of main colour
  • Approximately 20-40 grams of contrast colour

When working fraternal socks, approximately 45 to 60 grams of sock yarn is needed in both colours.

The pattern contains separate charts per colour scheme for those working with either a light or a dark main colour.

Other materials required are a set of knitting needles for working small circumferences in the round and darning needle for kitchener stitch.

The sample was knit up in Garnstudio DROPS Fabel in colourways “Pearl grey” and “Apple green”.

This pattern contains 7 pages. Basic instructions are 3 pages and then there are 2 additional pages of charts for one colour scheme.
