A couple of months ago, I went to Iceland for the first time.

Oh beautiful Iceland. I am amazed by your nature.

The glaciers
and the black beaches.

And of course the knitting

And OMG.
There was yarn everywhere.

I left Iceland feeling very inspired and with more than half a kilogram of yarn, I was sure to try out some Icelandic pattern after I got back to Belgium.

But instead, of casting on my Icelandic yoke like intended, I ended up knitting more socks instead.

So I present to you, my newest pattern: Jökull.

Jökull is a unisex sock pattern that was named after the Icelandic word for glacier. The stranded pattern was inspired by the yokes of the typical lopapeysa or Icelandic sweater.
